Green beans in olive oil (Loubye b zeit)

This is a very simple dish to make and one of my favorite ways to have green beans. The smell of this dish reminds me of my school days when I used to complain about having to eat this? How times change! We would have it with lamb shanks but I much prefer it without. You can enjoy this with Arabic bread and over rice if you like.

Serves: 4
What you’ll need:
- 500g green beans, cleaned
- 6 tomatoes- quartered or canned
- 1 onion- small dice
- 4 garlic cloves- minced
- 125ml red wine
- 1 fresh sprig of rosemary
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon 7 spice
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 3 tablespoon canola oil
- 125ml olive oil
Salt tomato quarters. On medium heat sautee onion, garlic. When translucent add cinnamon, 7 spice, tomatoes, rosemary sprigs. let cook on low for 10 minutes and then add wine and a bit of water (100 ml if needed). let cook for another 5 minutes and then add green beans and cook covered for 15 minutes. Add olive oil mix and let sit for 5 minutes.
Dish up and enjoy!
